Our Philosophy of Ministry at CLF
- Jesus is to be both Lord and Savior. (Phil 3:20)
- Christianity is a way of life, not just a meeting or a decision. (Matthew 24:12-14)
- Relationships are the biblical method of building the church to extend the Kingdom of God. God’s way is relational and ours should be to. (Acts 2:42-47)
- The local church is central to God’s purpose and should be central to our purpose. (Eph 3:8-11)
- The local church is governed by a God appointed eldership that is plural, governed by biblical principles, and not a democratic system. (Eph 4:8-13)
- Worship in Spirit and Truth is job #1 in connecting with God’s presence. (Matthew 22:37-40)
- Worship is a way of life that goes beyond singing and music (Romans 12:1-2)
- We are called to follow Jesus (discipleship) not to try to get Him to follow us. (Luke 14:26-32)
- We are called to make disciples (followers of the Lord Jesus) not just believers. (Matthew 28:19)
- Right relationships are the measure and means to maturity. (John 13:34)
- We want to pursue a multi-generational, multi-cultural vision. (Rev 14:6-7)
- Death to self is the only biblically valid Christian lifestyle. (Matthew 16:24)
- The whole Bible is absolute truth. It is the only objective, sufficient basis for faith and practice. (2 Tim 3:16)
- The church is grace inspiredin nature. (John 1:16-17)
- Spiritual gifts are essential in building the church. (1 Cor 12:1-31)
- Christ is the Head of the church. He divinely builds and plants people where He desires. (1 Cor 12:18)
- Constant change is here to stay. Change is the process of development and is valued. (2 Cor 3:18)
- The church is a committed people with mutual responsibility, not an “it” or “them”, but “us.” (Eph 4:15-16)
